you shouldn't be hanging out with people like that...i would stop calling them bros too...

you should come ride with me, we'll hit up all the great gas stations carrying 87 octane gas...
That's cool. Then maybe we could go to Starbucks...do you get preferential parking? I usually mix my gas with H2O (ever hear of that chemical?) so I run about 48 proof. [8D] Tahoe and I be representin' with out half caf latte's, bitches!

**** has it wrong...i only do caramel machiattos and with non-fat milk cause any decrease in body weight = increase in HP...and at starbucks...HP, bling and shine is all that matter...so when a big fatso says he's got a busa with 165 RWP...i say...you weight 300 lbs, that makes your HP to weight ratio about .55 per lbs...mine is .7 and blah blah blah.

No one boldly pointed out but do i use 89 or 87? whats theconclusion we came to?I have a 01 F4i and yes I have smelled the gas smell while riding because i have been using 91 octane. I also smelled it when i rode my suzuki too.

Like I said, there was another thread that roughly concluded it wasn't necessary to use octane boosters, let alone pump 91. Do a search in this forum for "octane".

Either 87 or 89 will work fine. I use 89 (especially during the summer) just to give my bike a little cushion against knock.

To answer jmdaily (who seems to know his **** pretty well). The reason a smaller cylinder resists detonation better is that the chamber is extremly compact, because the cylinder itself is physically small. Detonation is caused by the unburnt fuel air mix furthest from the sparkplug igniting from the increased pressure rather than the flame front. Old hemi engines are an excellent example, they have a very open chamber design and usually require higher octane than 93, out of a 9.5/1 compression engine.
