Just got done with the install...special thanks to Lam...the 8000k's look absolutely gorgeous..Ill post pics soon...Ive got a few questions/comments

1.I'm worried about how well the double-sided sticky tape is going to hold the HOT ballasts!? I put them on the sides of the headlight housings (as per Slicks writeup). I zip tied the cords coming out from the ballasts to some other stationary cords but still I wonder how well that double-sticky will hold dem things!

2. The ballasts get very hot..even after a short while

3. Do the ignitors get hot? Hope not (as per where I mounted them)

4. When I turn on the key I can hear the system/ballasts buzz/warm up? Normal? Which leads me to #5.

5. Does this system use/pull more energy than stock?

6. Low beam turns right on full power but the high beam has to charge up..from what I understand this is normal...I guess I am confused to how that works though seeing that both bulbs are the same and the only difference is the angle and reflector in the housing...why does it need to charge up?

7. Do HID's last long? Is a HID system (and this DDM Kit) a "sound" system?

8. I noticed (since I'm ****) that the low beam (left light if sitting on bike) bulb/housing seems angled a little lower than the high beam

Holy CHIT does it light up the road nicely..signs make me squint though which is always followed by a smile

1. i'll let you know when falls out, but i'm sure it'll be ok.
2. same here
3. can't check just like you haha
4. same buzz here.
5. i think they draw less current while running, but the initial ignition draws more? someone correct me if i'm wrong.
6. low beam is instant on but you can see that it charges up as well. starts off dull and slowly increases in brightness.
7. i'll let you know when mine goes out haha.
8. yea can't do much about that.

congrats man

Thanks Lam..Ya we will see about those ballasts! Thing was, and I don't know what was in the way..no matter what angle I tried, I couldn't get the ballasts in there attached to the side of the housing straight up and down! They just wouldn't fit! So they are at an angle but I made sure enough surface space was in contact with the double sided tape. As you can see in the 2nd to last pic, I zip tied the ballast wires to other stationary wires "should" the ballast break loose it will just dangle instead of fall! I put the ignitors taped (chitty) on the ram air ducts where the resonators used to be.

Here's a few random pics..I will get night pics up soon. This was where I was working in it last night...in the dark lol...well after a while I got pissed and pulled out the wifey's car and used her brights First pic is sun coming up in AZ...the only semi cool part of the day The cable lock you see there is an onguard Akita and is 1" thick cable. I wanted the THICK chain links but they dont make it in a long enough length. I know if someone wants to steal the bike they will...but Im confident it will take some time and noise to cut through 1" of cable! When Im away I put the cover on her.

TypeSR-Thanks for the feedback...that's good to know

Btw...anyone feel free to comment/answer my questions 1-8 above

Clean bike bro! The HIDs are the best mod I think for setting your bike apart from the rest (aside from exhaust lol)

I have 6000k in mine. 10000k in my 350z, and they were too blue so I wanted white this time ... wish I woulda done that in both!

Well...as I suspected...the HOT a$$ ballasts fell off the double sided stickies I have them zip tied to adjacent stationary wiring and mounts so they didnt go anywhere but its not exactly ideal to have them just hanging there. I dont know if it is the Arizona heat coupled with how damn hot these ballasts get that is not letting them stick (which you would think would) but they just arent. I can see the stickies kind of goo off a little cuz theyr so hot. Any suggestions? I mean they are not going anywhere but theyr not exactly mounted

Few random pics..btw..they work flawlessly!

Not sure if you have experience this yet, however on dark pavement roads, like the above photos, the bluer the light, the worse visibility you have, as the dark pavement absorbs the light.

I have been putting HID kits in cars, sine they were 1,000 dollars a kit way back in the mid 90s and would suggest nothing more than 5000-4300k for color.
