Yeah it sounds kinda hard. I might end up doing it since I'll be riding alot at night, but I'm going to pick up some silverstars this afternoon and put them in before I put my bike back together. I'll see how I like those and go from there. Thanks alot for the detailed write up and the pics.

On the Silverstars, do they just plug right in or are there any mods necessary when installing those?

Just take the headlights out and put the new ones in. They are really bright, not as bright as the HIDs but for $35 I went with the Silverstars. I posted some new pics in the Sights 'N Sounds I'm going to take some better pics, but its suppost to be a nice upgrade over stock bulbs.

Yea the Silverstars are noticably brighter and whiter than the stock bulbs and work pretty good. Just watch out though they burn out quick... I don't know if they don't like the bumps and vibrations on a bike or what, but both of mine burt out after 2 months or so (high beam burnt out within a week after the low beam, LOL)

i was thinkin of putting HIDs in my bike. i got my hands on the bulb, ballasts, and ignitors from a lexus. (no i didnt steal them from the car i work at a lexus dealership and i took them out of a headlight we were going to through out.) anyways i dont think im goin to put them in because these bulbs are really expensive. the one i got goes for about $100 and im not spend 100 everytime my bilb goes out. maybe i have a different bulb, but are the bulbs u guys use as expensive??

i really want to do this mod also, but man from reading all of this it really looks like a pain in the A$$. Anyone think about making a good write up for this, actually if i do add this mod in the near future then i would be willing to make a write up for it.

There must have been something wrong with your Silverstars. I have them in my truck and bike and the ones in my truck have lasted for 4+ years now. Dont they have a 3 year warranty on them anyways??? They make a big difference. I just wish I had hids though.

I realize this thread is really old, but I'm going to attempt to find a way to mount them on my 02 F4i. Jared (thirdgenlxi), I'm gonna try it your way first and see if it fits. I'm guessing you mounted them both where the "traingular thing" was on the air ducts. Is that right?
