Default Hesitation

Hey guys, I am brand new here (on the forum). I bought my bike last summer and spent all summer get used to it. This year I took it to the Dealer to get it serviced. This is because I was told after putting the 2bros exhuast on it i would need to have it tuned. I would have to agree by the sot on the tip of exhaust after riding last year. I have been noticing a hesitation when I rip throttle especially at slow speeds in 1st gear. Now before I rip her apart do any of you guys have a good place to start, such as throt cable or air cleaner, or some thing as simple as that. The rest of the performance is well more than expected, I am 6'1 and weigh 270 and can still do a buck 40 like it's nothin (***** aren't big enough for more yet).

does it hesitate when its in neutral? or bog? might be a air / fuel time problem. dirty injector and dirty air filter, bad spark plug. you can run fuel injection cleaner to see if that clears it up, also make sure your battery terminals are tight!

you might just be in too low of an rpm range. 3k or below and i think you will experience slow response. Get at around 6k and then hit it.

im a bigger guy too 6'1' 240 and i notice the same thing if i dont get the rpms high enough before fully letting off the throttle it bogs until i hit around 2500 rpms then takes off like a bat out of hell just give it more gas while your letting off the throttle and you should be fine.

2500???

When I am cruising I try to keep it about 6K. Try that for a day or two. You will think you are riding a different bike. Don't worry the motor is designed for it, and the bike will thank you for not making it labor every time to attempt to accelerate.

This is also a safety thing because if something happens and you need to accelerate you won't have to downshift first.

You should invest in a power commander and custom map. Sounds like you would greatly bennefit from it.

i noticed the throttle responce to rpm the first time i rode the bike. lol

It does still bog in nuetral a little. I would say half a second (like its taken a deep breath). I think I am gonna have top yank the tank and check air cleaner. I have 8900mi. on the bike and the dealer said at beginning of April cleaner looked OK, but it is still bothering me. Thanks again for the input.
