Default HELP! Oil Light

What's up everyone? I'm in need of some help here. 06 F4i, that was runngin fine all season. I took a hiatus of about 20 days, without being able to get on the bike and start her up. I left her in the driveway, and it rained once or twice (although I don't think this has anything to do with the issue) and then I wrapped her back up and rolled her inside (without starting her up).

I put the trickle charger on the bike, and went to ride her about 6 hours later. She started right up, and then at the end of the first road (about 1/4 mile) coasting in second gear, MIL comes on and oil light flashes and bike shuts off. Went to start, and wouldn't start, so I put her on a low voltage jump pack, and she started again. Rode the 1/4 back, and same thing. Figured I just needed to charge the battery.

Battery good after a week on the trickle and going out for a ride after being off of the bike for weeks in perfect riding weather. Same MIL light and oil light flashing. Bike won't start in first, and I have to put in neutral to start. Barely get her back into driveway before she cuts off again. I check oil and my neighbor is explaining to me how it's dry because I'm supposed to check the oil level with he bike on the side stand. I disagreed, but he told me I would harm the engine so I added oil. Bike ran sluggish, and cut off again. I checked the manual and saw that the engine is over full and I decided to just do a complete oil change.

The oil is at the proper level, and I still have the same issue. Now after the bike cuts off, MIL comes on and oil icon flashes, it's hard for the bike to start back up. I hear the fuel pump initiate, and it will only start if I give it a little gas while starting. I have no idea what is going on. I would rather explore if this is a simple fix before toting her off to the shop.

Thanks for any assistance.

So is the oil light coming on before or after the FI light and engine stalling out?? Could be a battery or could also be an oil pump crapped out and the motor locking up

Was it making any funny sounds just prior to dying out??

Oil level is checked with the bike strait up, not on the sidestand. If the oil light is coming on you really should stop running the bike over and over. If it is indeed not getting oil then you've probably already hurt the engine bad.

I did revert to checking the oil with the bike straight up (as I have always done before taking his advice). The oil is at the proper level. The bike never made any funny noises. All of this just came out of the blue.

The lights come on simultaneously after barely riding anywhere. The bike will run at idle, just fine.

Only time I have ridden since is when described to see if the issue had been resolved.

Thanks for your responses. I appreciate all the insight I can get on the matter.

I bet theres a spot somewhere you can tap into and check oil pressure with a gauge to be sure you have pressure. And while you can hear the fuel pump priming I would also check fuel pressure while running. My GMC needs 61psi fuel pressure to run, once it dropped to 60psi and it wouldn't rev or make power yet still ran and drove at low rpm. New fuel pump fixed everything. Just a thought....
