So for track purposes, how do you beat this 130 estimate and go faster?

any ideas anyone?

1 Remove the rev limiter
2 get on a smaller track where you have an advantage....that is, if you're racing.

Hey Tahoe ... why do you say to stick with the 525 chain ?? I'm in need of a new chain and was thinking about the 520 conversion. Is that a bad idea ?? Is it not as strong as the 525 ??

do a search and see if you can find a walkthrough for replacing chain. otherwise just take it to a dealer. your stock chain size is 525 but the lengths of chain that are sold are generic and you have to size them for your bike. if you don't feel comfortable doing this or have the right tools don't bother just take it to a dealer. the last thing you want is a chain to snap off and wrap around your leg at 60+ mph.

520 is marginally lighter ie smaller ie weaker. I say marginally.

+1 on www.thesumofallparts.com cant beat that deal but I stuck with a 525 chain. They will automatically send you a complete set up based on your bikesgearing. Soif you want a -1/+2 you wont have to guess how many links...they do it for you.

D.I.D is the best chain IMO.

yup yup...DID chain FTW mang!

not sure what you mean about taking link out of chain or replace...you replace the entire thing...chain and sprockets...

go wherever you can get a DID for cheap...and as ACE said...they come generic length, just cut to fit.

to clarify, not everyone runs -1/+2 set up at the track...you gear according to the longest straight...so that in high gear you hit peak power at the end of the straight...
