HELP GAS IS KILLING ME
HI I POST BEFORE THAT MY 2001 HONDA CBR 600 F4I WAS USING TOO MUCH GAS WITH ONE FULL TANK I GET AROUND 25-29 MILESCAN SOMEONE HELP ME TELL ME WHAT SHOULD I CHECK AND WHAT DOES A 2001 HONDA CBR 600 F4I USUALLY GET IN MILEAGE
Thats what I sometimes get depending on how I use the bike sometimes when the reserve lights come up and i go pump gas it gets full with 2.5 which means it had 2.3 gallons still in it.
hello again chestnut. did you find your map sensor yet?

EDIT:
25MPG sounds more like a FPR issue than a MAP issue. You should be getting between 35 and 50. That goes for everyone
(except you track peoples)

My bike gets like a 100+ miles to the gallon. Cuz I am not riding it now....too cold in Nebraska. lol
If you let it sit for a few days does the motor lock up when you try to crank it? Remove the oil filler cap and smell it...does it smell like gas? With out taking it apart....all this leaning towards fuel pressure regulator. To be sure, pull the vaccuum line from the FPR and see if it is wet (with gas). If it is wet, the regulators diaphram is ruptured. None of the dealers or shops around here stock this item, so i had to order it. 4-7 days till they ship, then 3-5 till i see it. Mean time, my bike is sitting in the garage stripped down and drained, while i wait for the FPR to arrive at my door.
My FPR was leaking bad enough that i was getting 26 mpg with all the sputtering and smoking, and if i let the bike sit for 12 hours or so it would hydrolock the engine, hence the crankcase being full of gas. When i drained the oil, I got 1.5 gallons out of the oil pan....

hey guys, he says that he's getting 25-29 MILES, NOT MPG!!!!! with a full tank!!!
that's right chestnut?????
well then get rid of your bike and by another one!!!!
but, when you're buying the next one make sure to have a friend that knows the bikes, so he can check it out foryou!!!!
meantime you can sell this one to me, cause if it's getting 29 miles per tank, then something is really f*****up...[8D]

chestnut, I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but reading from your past posts tells me you need a manual. It'll help you out a lot. If you can, buy the Haynes manual for the F4i. Moreover, it'll help you out with troubleshooting.
I'm sure people have mentioned the search feature to you before because I've seen it in your threads. I don't want to reiterate it, but please take the advice. Anyways, my bike gets between 41-48 mpg depending on how I ride it. Ride safe!
