Yeah, I am a mechanic too. Definitely don't go buy a new part unless...
A You have lots of extra money
B You have lots of extra time to fix thing that aren't broken
C You don't mind not doing things the correct way
Swapping a map sensor doesn't sound bad if you have a buddy that'll let you switch as long as it is an easy process. Always diagnose the problem before buying new parts. Otherwise, you are just like all the crappy mechanics that fix cars that way that everyone hates...
"Yeah, your pedal goes to the floor. Your brake rear wheel cyls are bad. Oops, we replaced those and the problem is still there. You need a new master cyl also... " (you all know what I am talking about)

Well I fixed the problem! The hose which connects to the Map Sensor on the left side of the air box was crimped. I removed the air box to remove the map sensor and noticed that the plastic hose that connected to the map sensor was pinched off because it had too much slack when I imagine the previous owner must have removed the air box for maintenance. I replaced the line with one off my buddies broke 929 and swapped the map sensor also but I know it was the line being pinched that caused the problem now since it was so obvious that no air passed through that line to the map sensor. Thank you guys for all of your valuable input and if anything ever goes wrong again I’ll be sure to ask for more help.
