Your talking about the ignition? Do I need to replace the starter switch?

no just grab onto your engine start button with your thumb and index finger and pull it toward you... or jiggle it around. see if it'll come on that way. sometimes it gets stuck partially or fully engaged.

Wish I would've knew this before I took it to the shop. Now should I just get the guy to wire it back to normal, since this should defintley be the problem? Also is it possible the connection is broken?

I'd ask him to wire it back, at no cost, test it, and if it doesn't work, ask to put it back as a temporary fix.
