Default Headlight Issues

Hey guys...new on the forum. Just bought an '03 F4i about two weeks ago. Bike is in great shape. Went on a ride the other day and got caught in a deluge of rain on the way back. Got back to the house just fine, but when I tried to go riding the next day, the headlight wouldn't come on. Also tried the high beam with no luck.

My gut is telling me it has to do with the heavy rain I got caught in...maybe some water got down into the headlamp toggle switch? Any suggestions?

Cheers and thanks,
Nick

Check fuses, wire harness. Use a multimeter to check continuity to see where it is stopping.

Make sure your starter button isn't stuck half way in.

That's exactly what it was. I found out that when the starter button is depressed to activate the starter, it cuts power to the headlamps. The starter switch wasn't coming back out all the way. A little Wd40 seems to have done the trick. Thanks
