Has anyone done the <$10 CCT fix?
I refer to this:
https://cbrforum.com/fb.asp?m=194939
I got the bolt as in the post, but there's just no way I could find to get the original one out without removing the entire CCT!
Is there a way to do this? I don't want to mess anything up just while reducing some vibration and removing the CCT needs some tool that'll go through the hole in the frame (
Has anyone done this?
Thanks

well i tried it on a J22 that was already making the noise and it did nothing. i would suggest buying a new oem one or an ape manual one. after all, its 40-50 bucks for a >$5000 bike so i dont think thats too much of a price to pay.

I followed these easy instructions:

And did the freebie fix/mod:
http://cbrworld.net/forums/thread/261176.aspx
It worked out 100% and no more noise!

After replacing the OEM tensioner and getting the same results (with noise) I put on a manual tensioner. That was a year ago at 16000 miles. I now have 33000 miles and haven't had the first bit of trouble from it. Not an expensive thing to do and it seems to last a lot longer the OEM part.
I woulnd't recommend doing it yourself unless you are very comfortable with things like this. You can very easily over adjust it and eat the plastic guide up inside the case.
