All of the sudden after a 2 week vacation (bike sat during this time), the bike is hard to start, won't start and the FI light is on or flashes. Once running all appears to be good even with the light on. The pump cycles, all dash lights are on, and it has fuel in the tank. Don't have my manuals in front of me...what could be the problem??

 

Oh, and this only happened on the first try of the day. Once it's started, it then will run and continue to start normally throughout the day. But the first start is hard and then the FI light even stayed on for my whole ride into work today.

 

Battery would be my guess. Meaning it is probably getting weak.

 

Battery isn't real old and it cranks normally. Although it could be a possibility. Any other suggestions? Could plugs or the fuel lines be a problem?

 

Does the light flash when the kickstand is down and then steady lit while riding? If so, this is your bike's way of letting you know what's wrong with your bike... In the service manual on page 5-11 it lists what the different flashes mean. How many times is your MIL light flashing?

 

The FI light flashed when trying to start and was solid after starting and when riding for10 miles. Then it acted normal the rest of the day.
