I picked up a Magellan roadmate 760 for $50 from a friend. I am going to try to wire in a 12v lighter plug into my air duct cover. Good idea or bad idea? Any other places I should try to wire it? Any tips/ advice is welcome. I also though about putting it under my backseat ('03) that way I would just have to run a long wire to plug it in but I could charge my cell phone easier.

I'd stay away from the air ducts. You don't really want to interrupt the air flow and such. There should be an easier way.

I went through the steering stem to mount the gps it works awesome. I had to sit it up a bit but it is right under my cluster when you are looking down at it. I haven't found a good home for the 12v plug. Zipties are the solution until I figure it out. Might make a new triple tree with a built in spot for it.
