Yeah I'll be back on the road soon i'm sure, and that's a good idea about getting boots with my settlement money!
You just don't appreciate gear until you need it!

I'm wondering about visibility. With our bikes, only the left head light is on by default. I wonder since the lady that hit me approached my bike from the right hand side that headlight would not be as visible?

She obviously didn't see me when she decided to pull out and go for it. I'm wondering if there is something that could be done to make myself more visible.

HIDs are a start. I recommend one HID butother riders like having two.If the sun is at your back, ride a little slower. Put an air horn your bike. It won't make ya more visible but it'll help get their atention.

I hope this helps.
What are the advantages of XENON HID technology over traditional halogen bulbs?
More light output
A 35-Watt XENON HID lamp produces up to 3x the lumens at the light source when compared to a 55-Watt halogen bulb.
Whiter light
While the halogen light appears yellowish, the XENON HID lighting system produces a light that is closer to that of natural sunlight.
Increased Visibility
In most nighttime driving/bad weather situations, this combination of a whiter color and a greater light output allows for a safer and more illuminated drive.
Reduced power consumption
XENON HID lamp systems draw significantly less power from your vehicles electrical system.
Greater product life
XENON HID lamp systems are designed to outlast your vehicle. On average these bulbs will last 3-5 times longer than a traditional halogen bulb.
Distinctiveness
Your vehicle will not only have the latest in automotive lighting technologies, but will also have that unique eye-catching appeal. Currently, only high-end vehicles offer this XENON HID lighting system.

Thanks for that description!

So how is a HID compared to the regular high beam? I read some people on here leave their high beam on all the time but i'm concerned about blinding oncoming drivers.

My HID is my high beam. It's always on, the only time I turn it off is if I'm behind a cop or if oncoming traffic flashes me, if not................F***K'em!
