Got in an accident!
I'm sure everyone loves reading about accidents.. so here's what happened!
I got in an accident on my way home from work yesterday and I'm not very mobile at the moment. I'm ok, except for a sprain in my left knee and a chipped bone in my right foot. Makes for a bad combination since I don't have a good leg to put weight down on.
So I'm at home nursing my injuries and it'll take a few days at leastI think before I can become semi-mobile.

The story..
I wascommuting home from work and a lady pulled out of a small side street thinking toturn left crossing two lanes. I started slowing down and she had her car half way into the first lane (two lanes wide). I was in the center lane. She then slowed down (close to stop) so I figured she had seen me so I kept going to go by her since I had all my lane free, so of course thats when she decided to accelerate! This all happened in a few seconds..
So she really deked me out. I swerved to the inside of the lane hoping to get by her because there was no way I could break in time at this point but she clipped me on my right side (my foot!) and I went down. Slid along the pavement for a bit and made contact with a car that had stopped.

The police assured me that she will be getting ticketed and I have lots of witnesses. Insurance should cover everything.

I never got a chance to see my bike afterwords but from what I've been told it's not too bad. Cosmetic damage, broken mirror, bent foot peg, wrecked exhaust (my new Yosh CF!). I got taken to a hospital and my bike got towed.

Quite an adventure to say the least. butas I said before I am ok except for not being mobile. Dr. says about 10 days before I should be able to put weight on my right foot
I'm thankful for wearing my helmet and riding jacket cause from the waste up I am 100%
Could have used some good riding boots though..

This will be my first time making insurance claims so I just hope I can get a fair settlement. I've heard it can be a pain in the ***.
I want to go take a look at my bike but I can't walk at the moment. I guess I should call the tow yard and tell them I'll be a few days.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing when the lady started accelerating. At that moment I knew I was going to make contact. All sorts of bad thoughts went through my head so when I came to rest and realized I was not seriously hurt I was in pretty good spirits.
Even had a hottie (life guard) on the scene helping me out before the peremetics arrived
Funny, and a minute after that I had a dr. helping me too! I chose a good location to go down

Glad to hear you are OK. Great reminder to always wear the gear even going down the street. You never know when someone's going to mess your day[:'(]
I never get used to seeing dudes going in shorts and sandals, get some riding boots with your settlement money!

Glad to hear you're not doing too bad. I hope she didn't have Geicko. I got into an accidenton 08/05 and still waiting for a settlement from Geicko. Funny thing though, I'm suing them and I'm still get letters from them for discounts for motorcycle insurance.[:'(]Good luck and get better.
