Default Good Tool?

*I guess I should stare at these links before I ask questions!

Any reccomendations on a chain riveting tool? I am not going to spend more than 40-50 on this item (and that is on the high side)

that only presses the side plates together...it doesn't rivet!!!

if you want one you'll need to pay about $80 for it.

Just like the description says, for press fit links only. If you want to rivet you have to buy one that rivets. Get on ebay and find one, like Tahoe said they sell for about 80 dollars.

Is it possible to make one or use something else to press and then rivet the link?

absolutely! check with the chain saw press/rivet at home depot...i bet the would work just as well as long as the 525 is within the spec of chain size they are to work with.
