If you have to shift clutchless to beat a car, then you must live in Ferrari-ville. But when you roll off the throttle, don't close it all the way but roll some what quickly, just enough to let the motor slow, the tranny will slip into the next gear. Don't do it for the 1 to 2 shift (at least I never do, maybe someone else out there has a comment on a clutchless 1-2 shift) but 2-3 and so on works well. It'll take you about 5 minutes to learn it.
