Okay, so I'm still having a problem with this bike not starting. But now I have another question..
Whenever I turn the bike on, there is a blank red light next to the nuetral light that comes on, and the little oil light flashes. Well whenever I try to turn it over for about 3 seconds, those two lights go off. But of course the bike still won't start, so I'm wondering if those lights are teling me something, or if that's typical upon trying to start. Like I said, I'm borrowing this bike from a friend who is out of country now, and I'm just wanting to ride!

 

im nota great bike mechainc.. but im sure that red light indicates some kind of a warning... once the bike starts, and builds oil pressure it will go out, but since its not running, that warning light will remain lit.
