If he doesnt get it, I will try to get mine tomorrow. Thats when it will be ready for another fill up. I didnt have that on my F4 so I've watched it several times now on the F4i. Once all 4 are flashing they start disappearing from the top.

 

Always wonderd how my reserve gas went fromstart to emptyin 15-20miles, makes sence now.

 

Interesting..... mine has never done this even once in 138,000 miles, and I've run it plenty low many times, and it just stays all 4 flashing until I fill up or run out of gas. My buddys F4i also does the exact same as mine. If it really does do that.... freakin weird, don't know why they would be different

Ok so I forgot I took it out last week and filled it back up. I'd need to ride like another 60 miles or so to get it to that stage, and it's cold out. So can't supply that now. I'll try to get it when the time comes, though. In the meantime, maybe jonld can prove it.

Jared, maybe that's something they changed in 04+ ??

 

I wouldn't be surprised if the system was revised or changed on some bikes maybe just the last few years of the F4i.



My 03 does the thing where 4 bars appear and then each bar starts flashing until all four bars are flashing. Thats the lowest I ever ran it and I put in 3.8 gallons in at that point.

 

Same thing with my 04. Someone will have to grow a pair and run it down lower.

 

Yea, maybe Aken's on to something. It seems most of the guys arguing that it won't go past four flashing bars all have 01-03's Myself included.

 

Question. When I'm filling up, I wait til the nozzle to automatic stop indicating I have a full tank. But When I look inside in the tank, the gas isnt even near the top(PIC 1). So I decided to filled it up more to reach near the top of the tank(PIC 2). Which is considered a full tank? Is it bad to fill it up to near the top of the tank?

 

I always fill mine up to the metal bar that you can see inside the tank, i dont know what the technical term for it is. That usually gets it real close to the top of the filler neck on my 04 f4i and it doesnt overflow.

I too though am wondering about my reserve because when i have 4 flashing bars I end up putting about 3.9 gallons in it, but dont have the ***** to keep going. Im lazy and don't like to push...
