the drop sensor is mounted to the back of the headlight it has three straight sideas and a rounded side its about half the size of a pack of ciggarettes and a bit thicker, if thats not pointing in the right direction it will do exactly what yours is doing,
unscrew it from the headlight and chase its wires, then fiddle around with holding it various positions im pretty sure this will fix your problem
Couldn't have said it better my friend.

Okay, I've been having trouble locating this sensor. I google imaged Honda CBR F4i BAS and Tip Over Sensor and found very accurate pictures of what you're telling me; one rounded side, 3 wires, etc.

However, when I look at my own bike I'm not seeing this. I've attached a picture of the wire harness for the headlight assembly. None of the two items attached fit your description, but one does indeed have only 3 wires and the other has 4. I combed the front end of the bike itself and found no additional sensor or items matching the description.

The 3-wired sensor shown in the picture is what i originally believed to be the BAS but when I was fiddling with it a week or so ago it didn't do anything, regardless of the orientation of the sensor. Am I messing with the wrong item or is that indeed the tip over sensor? I had unplugged it, plugged it back in, moved it around and everything while trouble shooting the bike in my school parking lot. Nothing.

Also, if the BAS was bad/malfunctioning/misoriented... wouldn't the headlights not come on? Because when everything is attached the headlights still come on (both low and hi) when I twist the key and toggle the headlight switch.

Just for reference, this bike is an 02 F4i, so I don't know if a particular year came with a particular style of sensor or what, but mine definitely doesn't have anything attached with 3 flat sides and 1 rounded side.

Can explain in detail how I would go about jumping the fuel pump to see if it comes alive under direct power source? How should I go about this? I'm pretty bad with wiring in general and don't wanna burn out the pump if it's not bad.

Okay.. so I took everything back downstairs and hooked the headlight assembly back up to the main harness. I connected the fuel pump to the harness as well and wanted to just double-check........

.... go figure.....

....the fuel pump is priming now. I hooked everything back up, wire wise, with the empty pump just setting ontop of the airbox. When I switch the bike on the mu****er primes now. Only new issue I'm seeing is that now I have a blank red light on.

The bike will crank when I press the start button, but I just don't recall seeing this blank redlight on the cluster illuminating. I'm assuming it's because the bike isn't running??

Okay, that makes sense. but man, I knew this was going to happen. Just as randomly as the bike stopped running it starts running again. *sigh*

I guess this was just a sign that I needed to strip the bike and perform some deep, thorough maintenance during the winter months.

Anyway, hopefully everything is good. I'm gonna try and put the tank and all back on later and kick it over, but probably won't put it back together until plugs have been changed and all other maintenance since I have no idea when it was last done. I appreciate all the help you guys provided! It was quick, informative and without flame! I honestly appreciate the help without all the "use the search button, noob" comments.

Great community here. Thanks again!

change the fuel filter since you have the fuel pump out.
