There is no trick. The F4i does not have a fuel gauge - it only comes on when you hit your 0.9 gallon reserve. Search a bit next time, this topic has been mentioned pretty exhaustively =)

The fuel indicator you see when you turn the bike on is the reserve tank. These bikes dont have a normal fuel gauge. If your riding and see those 4 bars come up it means you have approx. 1 gallon of gas left. The bars will start blinking from top to bottom as the reserve tank runs out. Basically once you get the bottom two or one blinking, its time to find a gas station.

na na man... don't listen to these two they are trying to trick you!

the trick to get it to stay on "a lot of F4i's have this bug don't know why Honda never fixed it" is to take off your windscreeen then unhook your speedo,

Throw it into a lake then go to starbucks and drink some coffee..
once you get back dig it out of the lake plug it back in and then your fuel gauge will work just fine

hope that helps

FYI gage is actually spelled gauge, sorry that bugs me. Then, never, ever fill up your tank. Keep no more than 1 gal in the tank. This is very, very important to keep the fuel GAUGE on.
