FS2 \ F4i !??
Hey people,..
I'm new, first post for me. but ufortionately, I kinda come on bad terms! sorry. I own a CBR600FS2 and dropped it the other day on a roundabout consiquently destroying the fairings. I believe everything else is ok though.
My question is this:
Ive heard that the F4i is just the european name for the F-Sport... but are there any differences at all? in the pictures they look like the exact same bike but im worried if i buy a fairing set for the F4i, it wont fit my F-Sport
What do you guys think?
Appriciate any help

Wrong, it’s not the same bike but it’s very close and many parts will be interchangeable.
In Europe, the F4i is different to the FSport and model production ran concurrent from 2001 till 2003. Most of the plastics might be the same, your best bet however is to compare part numbers on the www.ronayers.com microfiche here.
The main obvious differences are: In Europe the F4i came out with banana seat as from 2001 and it also had a centre stand as standard while the FS had the split seat and no centre stand. Also the graphics were different. The unseen differences are: internal frame stiffening, double valve springs, more rpm, more bhp and different final drive ratio on the Sport.....unsure about ECU's. Maybe extra plates in clutch on FS.
After 2003, the FSport became the RR while the F4i production stopped in 2006. Not 100% sure but I think the US only got the FSport in 2003 and was already named RR?
Disclaimer: I’m not an expert on CBR’s model history– I researched this from http://www.cbr-forum.org.uk/

What year do you have. In '03 they may have badge the RR fsport and if thats the case then the RR fairings will be what you need. However if its '01-'03 before the badge then the plastics are identical however the tail section would have to be gotten from a '99-'00 F4 or '03-'06 f4i for the bananna seat look. the front and sides of all F4i models are the same and would be compatible with the equivelant fsport.
