Front Wheel/Axle Help
Need Help/suggestions. Here's the story:
Had new tires put on and after putting the front wheel back on, it seems that the axle should go in further, but I can't remember how far it was in originally. Is it supposed to go up to that line/ridgethat is on the non-threaded side? The reason why I ask is that I had a lot of trouble getting that sidecaliper back on. I pushed the pads in and that helped some, but it seems that the wheel needs to shift over just a little bit more because I still have trouble getting the calipers mounted. I also noticed some slight rubbing between the fork and the wheel on this same side. There is a lot of clearance on the other side (right side) and the caliper goes on with no problems on that side. When all assembled as is, the brakes are dragging a lot (it's hard to even push the bike around)...
Ithought i might have to bleed the brakes since the brakes seem to be dragging more than they should, butit seems to be more of a problem of the wheel being to close to that fork/side (I pushed the pads all the way in and it clears the rotor easily but it still is really tight to get the calipers mounted in place). I checked the spacers and have the correct orientation (bigger one on the right side of the bike) and the axle will not go in any further... Any thoughts or insight?
-Thanks!

It should be even on both sides. Check the spacer orientation again. Also, put a screwdriver through the axle hole and twist while pushing the axle in (with axle nut off or loose and pinch bolts loose). The axle should stop when at that indicator line. also, if your spacers are on the correct sides, check to make sure the wheel is turning the right direction ie the direction of the spokes should be the same as the rear wheel spokes. When the axle is torqued, it should pull everything where it needs to be. I think you have something backwards.
thanks, i'll try it again cuz the axle stops about 1/8" from the indicator line and i tried for a long time to push it further... but at least now i know that it is supposed to reach that line, just not sure why it's not...
can anyone take a couple minutes and measure something on the front wheel of their F4i? I'm curious about how much space there should be on the left side (clutch lever side) of the bike... from the fork to the brake disc or anywhere else that is convenient... the pic is not that great, but you can tell that the wheel is way too close to the fork.
