Is only one light suppose to be on when my bike turns on? And then when I flip the switch for brights, they both come on?

 

Not 100% on the F4i but that's how the 1000RR is now. Everybody in the world loves to point out that ya got a light burned out.

Yup......one light with the low beam on/bike running

And then both lights are on for the High Beam (the high beam one is angled up higher though obviously)



I just got my bike a week ago, and took it out for the first time today and my dad said the same thing after I started it...."you got a headlight bulb out already!"........then I had to explain that it's only one bulb for the regular beam. He just couldn't believe it....lol

Yah, I have a 2002 f4i and thats the way it is. You got it, everyone tells me I have one burned out!

 

yes it's normal. RR's are the same, R6 is the same, etc... All the bikes are like that. Everybody tells me. My grandpa is pretty old, he reminds me everytime he see's me on it.

 

I always ride with my high-beams on. Better to be seen than not I figure. People flash theirs back with them on or off anyway.

 

yes! people @ work always point out that i have a headlight out, get's old after a while, dont you think?!

R6's and R1's dont have the lights set up the same way as the F4i does. They both come on. Im only posting this because I have 2 buddies, one with and R6 and the other with an R1 and both their headlights are on with High and Low beams.
