Default front running light

i noticed that i have a small bulb just between the high beam and the low beam, in the very center of the headlight unit. i assume it's my (broken) front running light. how on earth do you get it out? i managed to remove the connector just by feeling around with my fingers but however the actual bulb did not come out with it, and it's kind of pushed in and i can't grab it at all. can you take it out without removing the fairing?

Mine is just black plastic.. But it appears that a light COULD have been there.

My understanding of it was that there is a light there on european models. Not sure though
