I am putting on a OEM top fairing on my sons 03 F4i I got off E bay, great shape, trying to see how fairing secures it self to the fairing stay bracket. I have the lights installed in the fairing, just not sure how the lights push in to the fairing stay, as the two holes under the speedo are without rubber grommets. I understand that these are supposed to push into holes then mirrors hold rest of fairing on.
My question is, are these rubber grommets the same size as rubber grommets under speedo?? They seem to be a bit small, and sloppy fit in holes, also dosent seem like there is enough material to go into these grommets on the headlight? Are there any other fasteners on the lights as these have a hole in them?? Hope that is clear enough to understand ??

Hello ok thanks for the link, had it all ready, according to parts fish, the fairing stay bracket shows 3 grommets part number19051-KA3-830, there but arent those the ones for the speedo?? The holes for the "Headlight unit Bosses" in the bracket are bigger holes. I cant seem to find these on the parts breakdown to order them?? And the bosses on the headlight dont fit into these grommets I have for the speedo.

The other concern I have is the "Headlight Unit Bosses" only have less than a 1/8th of a inch to go into said bushings. Seems odd?? Thanks again for any help ....

 

OK got it, the grommets they show on the fairing bracket are the ones I need, the other ones are called "rubber meter cushion" and are in the speedometer schematic. OK still not sure on the bosses fitting into grommets now though..? thanks

 

Don't worry too much about it. My headlight has those two "bosses" broke off, so the only thing holding the upper to the bike is the four bolts for the mirrors and the six on the sides that screw into the side fairings. Been riding two seasons like that w/o issue.

 

i'm guessing that they are gone on mine too
