I was installing my front wheel back on last night and came away with some questions...
Per the manual and diagrams, it shows that the thicker distance collar should be on the left-side (from rear), and the shorter one on the other side. However, when everything is locked down, it appears that I have axle showing on the right-side (from rear). Is that right? If it is, how does the wheel not drift from side to side with that empty space?

Also, I saw another similar thread related to front wheel drag (https://cbrforum.com/forum/f4i-main-...-tubes-127444/) and it looks like (from the pics) their thicker collar is on the right-side (from rear), which appears to be opposite from the manual?

...any thoughts are very welcomed! Thanks.

 

From just a quick look at my bike and the diagram in the manual the shorter collar goes on the left side, from the point of view if you were on the bike.

 

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, part of the confusion was I left them on when I gave them to the shop to mount new tires. Realized that the sides got swapped after staring at it for awhile. All good now ;-)
