fork upgrade
To be honest I probably shouldve just bought a new bike lol but at least now I have something different...
04 is when the R1 went to Radial brakes. Im using the older 2001 R1 forks with the regular brakes but just swapped the master cylinder for one off a 2005 R6 which happens to be a brembo radial unit. For me, this setup is more than enough.
The AK20 kit in stock forks would be more than enough for most... I just wanted something different when I did my swap plus I was able to get my swap completed for around $200 after selling all my stock parts I removed...
You def would have to do labor yourself if your considering a swap... I cannot even begin to imagine what a shop would attempt to charge for something like this lol

If you do do it just do it right. Skameigh is a good example of this. He didn't try to do it cheap or skimp on anything. I think that's more important than anything and I'm glad he's a good example of that

What f4 parts were u able to sell to recoup cost's? arnt the AK20's around a$1000.
what other forks would be long enough ?
i listed some earlier
any r1 front end
newer gsxr 1000 front ends- this is a possibly, youll need to confirm, but the 05-06 gsxr (whatever) r plenty long
rc51 front end-but ull have to get adapters for radials
and then i think the 06/07 1000rr front end-youll need to confirm this as well
and of course with all these youll need to redo your bearings and stuff so they fit properly, excpet maybe the 1krr and rc51
