having a flat black or gloss black bike is all good until someone cuts your has off and you have to dump the bike all because they couldnt see you with that color. Especially at night. I live in Minneapolis and there is no way I would ever have my bike fully black because i would be dead within days.

don't do gloss black with red accents.....it sucks...it's horrible....just looks like crap.....

besides...i am doing that and it's almost done short of the paint job......

just a sidenote, as i have said before...whatever you do...the paint will always be noticeable, but the little accents...ahhh...now those make it truly standout and make it unique!

i actually liked my psuedo championship white matte paint job, but it was too hard to keep clean.

just painted my tank last night, and need to do the front fender now. i think it'll look pretty good. also trying to black out pretty much everything on the bike except for the chain, wheels, and levers.

i'll tell you what...blacking everything out...not as easy as it sounds...especially if you are going for bolts and things like that...i have handpainted at least 20 different items to black out my bike...

i will post of pic of my back wheel when i get a chance....i just had it gloss black powdercoated...i painted the sprocket carrier...bolts, etc...got a black vortex sprocket and got red annodized sprockets nuts....after everything....including painting the exposed threads of the bolt exposed past the sprocket nuts...my rear tire is completely blacked out.....with red accents...NO metal showing at all except the actual brake rotor...hell i even painted the inner on the rear rotor.....it took time...but holy crap does it look sweet!!

goddamn...ttiwop!

i won't black out the rotors or the forks or whatever, but i guess i could, if i had the dedication--only problem with that is, if i put that much work into it, i know i'll lowside it the first day it's out.

Not putting **** on you or telling you how to ride or trying to start a flame war but..... When you are riding you must assume that no one sees you and you must position yourself accordingly. Blue, pink, red, yellow or whatever the color, ride defensively. We might not have as many cages on the streets as Minneapolis but the same principal applies. Yeh sure you might have been riding 10 years or morebut..... Well enough said.

if they aren't looking, it doesn't matter if your bike is dayglo orange, you're still gonna get hit.

also, at night, your headlights are going to do more for visibility than anything.

i see what you're saying, but i was hit in broad daylight a few months back, doing 25 mph down my street, by a lady who swore i dropped from the sky to hit her windshield.

hi-beams, bright red helmet--none of that registered.
