Fixing scratched fairing

Fixing scratched fairing
I took my bike this weekend to a local store to have them install some Vortex sliders I bought. They scratched the left fairing and covered it with a sticker that they said when giving away for free. When I removed it I noticed the scratch and that they tried to cover it up and confronted them.
The guy now says that they can fix it. That I'll have to leave the bike for two days because they'll remove the fairing and take it to their place where they fix them, when they're done, take it back and install it. The scratch is not on top of the sticker as you can see in the pic.
Is this something that can be done? fixing it? I thought fairings needed to be replaced. He wants me to take the bike there tomorrow morning to just be done with it.

RE: Fixing scratched fairing
I would speak with the manager or owner of this place. Tell them that if the part does not look brand new when you come to pick it up, that you will not accept it. I would make sure to point out how they tried covering it up with a sticker and giving you that crap story about the sticker being free.
I know it is just a scratch, but the fact that they tried to deceive you is just not right. There is a chance that the repair might not look that great depending on how good their repair company is. Who knows how well they will match the paint.
Just don't let them push you around. A lot of places try.

Check out my tutorial on CBRworld.net for repairing fairings.

I did all mine myself. You have to use a product called plasti-flex (or similar) because Bondo won't stick to ABS.
