They scratched my rim! WTF
I took my brand new 2008 Honda CBR 600RR graffiti (limited edition) in to Performance Honda in new martinsville wv on July 3 2008. I was just having them take the tire off the rim so i could get the tire patched. They said they use a special tool to take the tire off the rim, because when i called i asked them if they had the right tool to take it off with out hurting the rim and they told me yes. They scratch and chipping the metal/paint up on the rim really bad. This is a black painted rim. I then spoke with them about this and the tech there told me there was noting he could do about it. I said what are you going to do about my rim i brought this in here with nothing wrong with it and now its all messed up. He then again says there's nothing we can do about it.( he did not even say they were sorry). I called the manager of the honda shop today and explained what had happened. He also told me there is nothing they are going to do about so i told him i would take the appropriate action and he hung up on me.
i work at cycle gear (a parts and acces. store and we do tires too) and we have scratched 2 in the last 2 months.
we manned up and paid the almost $2,000 for new ones...
wat a douche, nail that buisness to the wall.
google better buisiness bureu and complain to them, as well as the state if they have an automotive bureu (ask if they do bikes too)

In addition to calling the BBB, find the number for the regional manager for Honda in your area. Give him/her a call and explain your situation and that the service department said they wouldn't do anything about it.

I had a similar thing happen to me as well. Unfortunatly when you call American Honda they take no responsability for their dealerships, as they are franchises and not part of the same organization that regulates Honda itself. Kinda sucks.
Additionally, you should not really be patching a tire on a sport bike. You are very much limited in speed, as a patch ruins the integrity of the tire. Additionally, your rubber is your lifeblood. If that patch gives out and you are doing anything but going in a pin straight line, the bike is going down, and, most likely, you are going with it.

poor rim.
