After replacing the Starter/kill switch, tracing the harness to the fuel pump and throughout the entire bike, I came to the conclusion that the previous owner was a idiot. To make a long story short I bought an entire used harness and all sub harness.
I know that it is not an pinpointed answer that you were looking for but it solved that problem. the Headlight sub harness was the worst. it was hacked to $ht and caused alot of problems. the HID was drawing alot of power and would cause my 3k-5k RPMs to bog like crazy until the HID box turned off and all was well. are you running the Bank angle sensor? or has it been deleted?

man, that looks like hell. mine isnt all jacked like that. The headlight and turn signal harness is a little beat up but as for the main harness its in really good condition. And we have taken the bank angle sensor off. It started fine for me last monday. Then on wednesday i tried to start and havent gotten it to start. the only thing different was that i jumped the battery off my jeep. i've checked all the fuses. could it be that one of my relays its damaged? im going to go buy an ohm meter today and check all the relays. still got a lot of body work to do so its not that big of a deal to me that its not starting right now. I know it runs great. its gotta be something simple like a fuse or relay. no way i fried the computer. (i hope)

so my brother and i tested all my relays and other electrical things today to find out why my bike wouldnt start and finally i took it all apart and started checking the spark plugs. I pullled one out and noticed it was an irridium spark plug and the tip was all black. I knew at this time that there was an issue because i knew that they were self cleaning. i think its because they havent gotten hot enough because over the years that it has sat its only been started for prolly ten to fifteen minutes at a time. they never got hot enough to clean themselves. im not an expert but thats what i think. so we laid them down to test to see if they were sparking and werent getting much. we then cleaned the tips off with a little file and checked them again. the spark we got was signifcanlty more. instead of filing them all down and trying them, I'll be putting new spark plugs in tomorrow. I'll let you know if it fixes the problem. other than that the rebuild is going great. once i get her started again, i'll be putting the parts on and she'll be ready for paint. im itching to get it finished and getting her started again will be a big break!
