even if it wasn't dropped - aftermarket fairing sets make me real nervous. 9 times out of 10 (or more) the plastic used is not as good as what comes from the factory, so get a good look at the thickness of the fairings, and also inspect for any cracks or even melting points. Also, why in the world would somebody JUST steal the fairings. That takes a good 10 minutes to remove w/out damaging. Why not just get two big friends and the whole bike in about 3 seconds? Seems fishy to me.
