Hi All, I had just bot a 2002 F4i and I discovered that when i start the bike when the engine is cold. The FI light will blinks, it will flash twice in an interval of abt 1.5s. The RPM will be abt 700-800rpm upon the engine fire up. Then it will shoot up to 1.5k rpm in the next 2-3sec. Then the FI light will keeps blinking.

So when the engine is warmed up. I off the engine switch, then on again to fire up the engine (the ignition key is still at ON). The FI light will goes disappear and the bike will idle normally.

Do you guys encounter this problem before and if any bros here know what is the problem ? Please advice.

im not sure what the prob lem is, but i do know the FI light flash es a diff # of times for diff "codes" as to what is wrong, maybe some one can chi me in with wh ere to fin d the c ode l ist.

 

I have no idea how to determine how many blinkcount that will be for my case. The FI blinks twice within a interval of about 1.5s. The Engine can start normally when such thing happen. Any kind souls can help to advice me ?

2 blinks is loose or poor connection of the MAP sensor vacuum hose or faulty MAP sensor.

MAP = manifold absolute pressure, the sensor islocated towards the front left, in front of the cylinder heads.

 

i had the exact problem all it is you have a poor connection in the MAP curcit in the vacuum line just replace the line and it should be good to go!
