Default FI light on

I just bought an 01 F4i with a little under 4,000 miles on it. The FI warning light is on and flashes 2 lights. I checked the service manual and this is related to the MAP sensor. I checked the connection the MAP sensor as well as the hose and all looks fine. The previous owner had a DEI Merlin 2000 alarm on the bike which is not on it any longer. By the looks of the wiring on the bike, it looks like the alarm was not professionally installed! Could the previous owner have screwed something in the connection to the MAP sensor when he installed or removed the alarm?

The manual says that there should be 150-250 mm Hg (mercury) at idle speed. If you have this, I'd recommend simply replacing the MAP sensor. Are you sure the hose coming from the MAP sensor isn't dry rotted or cracked anywhere? This would allow for vaccum drop.
