Default F4i swingarm swap for 600RR Swingarm

I have all of the things that i need for the swap...i think. I have an 03-04 600rr swingarm, a 03 1000RR shock and a 600rr caliper and mounting bracket. I am looking to start this project in the next week and was wondering if there is anything to watch out for? Also, what will help this process go faster. I'm pretty good mechanically, so i don't think that it should be too big of a problem but you never knoew. Are there any more parts that i will need? Also who all has done this conversion and if they have pictures can they show them??

Thanks A Lot!!

you will need some tubing to make bushings out of if you plan on using the F4i wheel and axle. You will also need to grind down or have it machined, the big spacer on the brake side. You will also need new sprockets n chain and a few extra links or order the new chain with 'I think' 114 links, think mine was a 110 link and I added 4 links plus 2 master links (rivet type). Heres some of the pix I could find when I did mine last year.

How big of tubing? I am guessing about the same size as the axle? also, what happens to the F4i rear shock resevoir tank (the little silver tubular thing on the frame)??

thanks for the help PlayfulGod!!!

Any other tips and tricks are greatly appreciated. I am trying to make sure that this process goes as smoothly as possible with very little hiccups.

you will also need a 6" bolt nut and lock washer. the old shock res you will just unclamp it and remove with the shock. and you need to buy or make the tool to remove the swingarm

+1 yup yup, You can use a big socket n grind out the notches, dont remember the size off hand. Think its in my tool box, I will look and see in tomorrow. On the tubing, I took my axle and the brake bracket to a locl shop and got them to match it up as close as the could on the id/od of the tubing and then I sanded it down n out to fit. Its easier to work with, with a long piece of tubing, but less work with the cut to the sizes you need lol.

I think the length I used 6" but a used a nylon lock nut n flat washers.
