yo mang...i think that you'd get better faster on an F4i than you would on an RR...as far as performance...just some tweaking and the f4i will hang...
i know plenty guys who start on the newer R6, liters, etc...they just don't learn the proper techniques and this holds them back...so that i'm spanking them on my F4i...and now, if i was to upgrade to something else, i'd spank them even harder. fact is that it's mostly about the rider...put rossi or anyone running fast group at track on an F4i vs. an intermediate rider, the dude will still out ride the rider even on an inferior bike!
most people rely on equipment to become better riders...to me that is limiting. rely on oneself and when the equipment can't go any further, and you jump to something else better, you'll get instantly better!
i'm sticking to my f4i for now...cause it still spanks...

My 2 cents which are probaly worth more than King Midas' golden tokens. I just upgraded from 2003 Suzuki sv650s to a 2006 F4i. I got a killer offer from my dealer: $7,900.00 for the RR or $7400.00 for my yellow F4i. The heat was on. Testosterone said buy the RR it looks better (to me) and definitely has some nice HIGH $$$ upgrades. The Upside down shocks, and swing arm alone, are over a$1000.00 upgarde (in my opinion). So why did I choose the F4i? It was way more comfortable!!! Even my sv650s had a more aggressive riding position than the F4i. I couldn't handle more than 45 mintues on the sv650s. Now buy and RR, and feel even worse??? No Way. I drove the bike home 1 & 1/2 hours. I was able to handle it without back cramps vibration etc. It already felt better than my sv. The clincher? I just got back form a 900 mile ride with my buddies through Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Sequoia & Highway 4. No the bike is not designed for touring, but no bull**** I made the treck with ease. We did stop for small hikes, photos, etc. every 1 -2 hours, but other than that I was touring like no other. See photos. Side note. in the twisties (and there was a lot of them) my little tourer kicked ***. Buy the f4i. As soon as I installed a PC III and a slip on, the motor sprang to life.

P.S. How do I out a phto in my reply?

Man, not this **** again.

Is the Search function not working here?
Got something to contribute, or are you just here to complain? Searching didn't yield the results I wanted. 175 posts isn't impressive, so I won't take this to heart.
Neither is 12 posts. So the pot can call the kettle black huh?

Use the search function. It works. This crap comes up here every week.

Ok i like the rr but i have a 01 f4i i know that will kick butt with a rr because of my mods i have done. now i still have most of the comfort that it came with but performs as well a the rr. first of all i raised the rear sets and then put r6 clipons, lowered the front 5mm, installed racetech springs on front and rear, installed pc3,good map.
it rides a lot stiffer but i can still ride it for a 1.5 hours before i have to get off. so know i when i think about getting a new bike i think about all the little things i have done to this bike to get it where i want it and how nice it is to ride and i think again.
