nope I haven’t been able to remove the old ones to see if I need new ones so I haven’t ordered the new ones yet

I think you may have a normal thick sided socket, for this you need a thin walled long reach socket 16mm, I take it the socket wont go down the hole, and have a look here you'll have to scroll down to the description

no the socket goes down to the spark plug fine but it’s too big to like twist out. Like it fits around the plug and won’t twist

But is it a spark plug socket, you need the height within the socket to go down over the spark plug, does it just spin and not catch

I’m not sure if it’s spark plug socket so that could be the problem. But is the socket itself suppose to fit around just the blue circled part or the red one

If you look further on than the red line you can see the hexagonal shape of the plug ,that is what your aiming for ,the blue part you have outlined is the electrode on the top of the spark plug, and its some distance down , that's why you need a spark plug socket (16mm)

I never even noticed the hexagon shape
