Default F4i help!!

Whats up everyone, ive gotta few quesitons im going to try to knock out. First, I put on a new sprocket kit on the bike. -1,+2 bike runs awsome, but doesn't this mess up my odom/trip? I guess its off, but even if its not it seems my bikes been getting horrible gas milage lately since I put it on, i guess because ive been riding pretty hard, still im only getting 100 miles or so before reserve kicks on.

Can you sayaround 20mpg? ? ?

I'm not really that familiar with sprocket changes, but I can tell you that it does affect your odo.

As for your reserve question, I think reserve kicks in with .9 gallons or something like that. In my advanced age, I can't remember. But it does mean that you should have plenty of time to get gas when it comes on.

I've never had a starting problem like yours... maybe someone else has?

1. Your speedometer and odometer are off by about 14%. Get a Speedohealer if you'd like to fix it. Works great. Either way, your gas mileage is bad. Even hard riding should get you worst case 120 miles before reserve. I have sprockets and untuned PCIII and I get ~135 before reserve.

2. All bars flashing means your reserve is half empty. The bars will start disappearing after that, while continue flashing.

3. Are you sure you're not trying to start your bike while it's in gear? Either way, it could be a loose wire in the starting button. Take your clip on apart and check it out.

Still, anyone ever get pretty bad gas mileage in their f4i and fixed it?? I guess I don't really know what it is now because of my odom being off, but with my gearing i would think it would add more miles because the engines spinning faster so its racking more miles up which would mean im getting worste mpg then now(100 then reserve kick on) that im getting now! arghhh

Change your fuel filter, check your air filter, and if it still gets bad it could be the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) i think its a common issue. Ride normal first and see what you get.

As far as the gas gauge from my understanding once all the bars are flashing you have to get to a gas station, i didnt know that once they all flash they start disappearing. I was told from a couple guys on here that theres some gas you cant use in the tank because of its design so idk.

If the bike is in gear and the kick stand is down, the bike won't start at all.

If the bike is in gear and you try starting it without pulling in the clutch, it won't do anything at all.

Just seeing if you weren't accidentally doing one of the two above and think there's something wrong with your bike.

0.9 gal when reserve first comes on. After that, count your miles accourding to your mileage. i.e. if you get 40mpg. you have 36 to a gas station! Relying on the reserve bars blinking can be misleading since it's not an exact level indicator, just a count-down. Again, if you get 40mpg highway you might get less sitting at a stop light, so know the limits!
check if your exhaust is colored/white for a long time, or smells of gas (normal on startup, should go away in a few minutes). i get >110 at the track! so unless you're spending hours at stop lights, check the bike!

Seems like it got worst passed day or so. Only managed to get about 90 miles on pretty much the WHOLE tank. Did some reading and im going to check for foul plugs for cylinder 2 and 3 appearntly if those are fouled thats a pretty good sign the FPR is bad or going bad. Also going to check my air filter, changed oil/filter. Hopefully I can come up with something soon. Going through alot of gas lol
