Default F4i Engine cutting out

Hi everyone, this is my first post.

I have a 2001 F4i that I recently laid down. It wasn't a very serious crash - it went down at about 20km/h. Anyways, ever since the crash, I have an infrequently recurring problem where all of a sudden, the engine will cut out when I'm going fairly fast (say - about 60 kph). The strange thing is, if I pull in the clutch, the engine goes back to iding as normal. It idles fine in neutral.

When I turn the key off and on, and play with the stand, I can eventually get it going normally again, but after some time, it will happen again.

Because of this, I though that it might be the side-stand switch (which is bypassed when I pull in the clutch, so it idles fine). Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks very much! When I get this problem fixed, I'll post up some pics of my ride -- it'sgot custom midnight-blue metallic paint and carbon bits.

usually after a fall the battery terminals may be loose and cause what you've described. however, the fact that pulling in the clutch and playing with the stand gets the bike going points to the sidestand switch. do a search for bypassing the side stand switch...and then see if it still occurs.
