I'm looking into buying a used f4i engine, and the seller has sent me compression numbers ranging from 235-245psi on each cylinder. The Honda f4i manual lists the compression numbers as 178psi at 350rpm, which I assume is the speed of the starter motor. Are these higher numbers more accurate, or even reasonable? I have seen similar figures posted elsewhere for f4i compression numbers, but I have no idea how they were arrived at. Is there some other method of testing compression? Thanks for your help.
