Default Extended frame sliders

hi, does anyone have any knowledge of extended slider like this one?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXTEN...temZ4574228281

I installed a regular one but it's only sticks out an inch or less and am not sure if it does do any good.

well I know you can get freakin roll cages too, but extended sliders... hmm I think it would throw off the balance and force it to roll over and slide on its top side...

Is that mean what I have that sticks out an 3/4 inch or so functions better in case of fall?? Probably a difficult question since we can't predict how one can fall and slide depending on a situation. I was thinking more for protecting my leg than a bike.

longer the sliders, more torque it'll have on the engine bolt it's connected to...which means that it has more potential to bend that bolt, rip the head off, etc.

the purpose of frame sliders are to protect the frame and allow the bike to slide in a lay down...not to protect the fairings!

what you have is how they should be to work!

Thanks for your expert input! This is how it's installed on my F4i.

yeah that looks good. he's right about the fairings.. won't save em perfectly but it's meant to save your frame.. to elaborate what would happen if you're bike isn't balanced when sliding... it could catch and flip.. when that happens.. say goodnight.
