Default Exhaust conversion stubby

hey I am pondering the idea of mounting up a stubby exhaust on my 2002 F4i, has anyone ever done it? I saw one guy that had a pipe cut down on here and mounted down low and I liked it a lot. But now that aftermarket exhausts are coming out for the new R6 and GSXR, I am thinking of buying one of those and custom fabbing my own exhaust tubing... does anyone see anything wrong with this, will I run into a lot of problems? I know I am not the first person to think of this so let me know what I might need to do and pros and cons thanks

iam sure it will be fine if the size of the pipe is the same. all the muffler is is a streight pipe with holes in the side anyway.

i cut my m4 down 6inches and it sounds way better. i did have to fab a baffle to fit inside, because it was too loud at first, but it still wasn't that loud, i just wanted a little softer sounding.

a gsxr scorpion exhaust sounds sweet. I borrowed my buddys to hear it and it sounds great and fits pretty decent.

nah it should be cake. i cut my stocker down and took the baffle out, sounds good. you should get the micron gp (gsxr600), these are all new design whichis created by hydrofoaming the the canister so they could make a wicked shape while reducing weight and making great sound. i think this would look nasty on a f4i or rr

Several companies are making these GP style cans for the new bikes. The only difference between the pipes are the mid-pipes that connect them to the headers.

It should be easy for them to release these cans for almost any bike, and just sell the appropriate mid-pipe but they don't seem to want to do it.

I had my 2 Brothers canister cut in half and repacked by CBRracin_123 here on the board. LOVE it! Nice deep rumble, but it's damn loud when you're behind me in the twisties. (had a guy on a Duc comment on it this past weekend) I don't have a good picture of it, but hope to soon. Here's one from the opposite side and you can see how short it is.

yeah i cut 6 inches out took the baffle out and fab'd up a pipe which is just like the aftemarket pipes (tubing w/ holes inside canister), and repacked. sounds pretty good, the only reason i did this cuz im doing the whole rr rearend including swingarm. im doin an undertail exhaust so buying a f4i aftermarket pipe is useless. the gp exhaust can be made for any bike but like squiresca said it doesnt look like companies are producing them, maybe companies are trying to make people buy the new gixxer and r6 and r1. Arrow has a sick gp exhaust which they say they run on gp bikes. its for a RR and isnt really as low as the gsxr's.
