durability
Iv'e got an 06 f4i with 4300 miles. Have not had any luck a search, so I'm just gonna ask. I am curious about the durability of these bikes beyond normal wear stuff like tires, brakes, chains, and such. how about stator , regulators, fuel pumps, bearings, EFI, engine/trans - stuff like that, that can strand you. Anyones experiences with this sort of things would be interesting to many of us.
as far as the bikes themselves Hondas are known to last a LONG time, I've seen people ride F3s and F4s for more than 80,000 miles
the other stuff you mentioned don't really have a "life span" if they go out, replace them but its not really that common for the things you listed to go out in the normal mileage range.

Yea other than the cam chain tensioner, there really isn't anything else that's problematic. Hondas run forever... no worries! My '04 just turned 50,000 miles and outside of normal wear stuff like chains and sprockets, and brakes, and of course maintence stuff like valve adjustments, fork oil, throttle body sync, and other fluid changes, the only things I've had to replace was the cam chain tensioner once and the front brake rotors once (warped). Brakes, tires, chains, and sprockets can last a short time or a long time, it's completely dependant on how you treat it and how you maintain it. Other than that... bulletproof!! Mine has been drop dead reliable and still runs perfect! Never once left me stranded anywhere, and starts right up every single time. Leaving this friday on a 2.5 week 5000 mile roadtrip, and I ain't worried!
P.S. - on a side note, Honda cars are just as bulletproof. My Accord just turned 370,000 miles over the weekend, all original, and still runs and drives absolutely perfect! Really can't go wrong with any Honda product, IMHO
