Exclamation Disaster strikes!

OH NO! I was riding my bike in to work today, and half a mile away from work the bike brakes down I pulled up to a light slowing down, and as i got back on the throttle it was as if it was choking. The Rpms dipped down scarcely low, and every time i would hit the throttle it had a very hard time increasing rpm. Then the engine would cut off.

I tried turning it on and off a few times, and even letting it sit for a few minutes, the same thing happens, rpm is low and cuts off if i rev it.

Help!

Do you have gas in the tank(lol)?
killswitch in the run position?
Everything getting power that should?
Does it still turn over nice and strong?

I mean, i rode the bike 3 miles to work before it died, and rode it for about 10 yesterday, so i'm fairly certain most of those things would be null.

The bike starts, but at a very low LOW idle, and turns off after a rev (the rev is heavy, as in i can give it full throttle and it'll barely get up to 5k rpm). Yes there's gas in the tank, but it's possibly very old gas, i don't know how that would affect something. What do you mean by turn over? I'm sorry if that's a noob response, but i'm not familiar with that terminology.

FPR isn't too expensive; less than $100 and pretty easy to replace yourself.

I dunno what else it would be, but it could be worth troubleshooting before buying a new part anyway.

"Yes there's gas in the tank, but it's possibly very old gas"........could definitely be it. Drain and flush tank and refill will definitely good gas. Good luck!...

I called the local shop, besides from hating them with a passion, they said it's very common for them to get calls this season, and i'm not the first to call about something similar. They'll charge me hourly to figure what's wrong (1hr to scratch their nuts, another hr to scratch their ***, and 15 min to empty gas tank and put new gas in totaling me $200).

I don't know what the symptoms of bad gas is, but i'm starting to think this is it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've never done this before, and i'll be doing this in the company parking lot of a realtor (it was the closest lot to me). Any suggestions, of what i should bring to do this job? Thanks!
