Default Dirt on valves

Ok so I was in the process of pulling my throttle bodies off and upon doing so i got some dirt down ontop a couple of the valves. What would be a good way to get the dirt out so I dont damage the engine

Give it a shot of compressed air.

How bad would it be if any of the dirt got into the cylinder?

Blow out what you can. Dirt is not great for it, but if its only a little it should pass through.

If its dirt and not rocks then your motor will be fine.

Ya it was just dirt built up around the throttle body. When I finally jerked it off some dirt fell onto 2 of the valves.

If you are really paranoid about it, get a shop vac or something, and tape some 1/4" vinyl to the end of the vacuum. suck out the bits from the valve seats. If your lucky, all the intake valves will be closed, or nearly closed.

Shouldn't be a big deal though if you leave it.

On a side note, always stuff a rag in your ports when you have the carbs off (I know that doesn't apply here, but just a word to the wise!)
