Default Delkevik exhaust install question

Just got in my 14" stubby carbon exhaust. the bike is apart, but for the life of me the mid pipe doesnt look like it fits right. bike is a 06 f4i.

the o2 sensor bung seems too far back. and there is a bracket on the mid pipe that doesnt line up with anything. pics coming in a few minutes. anyone else with this pipe want to confirm i at least have the right parts? id love to get this on tonight since tomorrow looks like it finally will be free of rain.

made some progress. pulled the o2 sensor up and over the crankcase, made some slack and rerouted the wire. problem solved. calling this exhaust a "slip on" makes it sound too easy to install.

i need to get some exhaust tape to tighten up the joints. i have some minor leaks that can be felt, but no biggie.

that just leaves the mystery bracket. im not afraid to get the grinder out and trim it down, but id at least like to know what it was there for. i called delkevik and they told me they only have 2 mid pipes with o2 bungs, the f4i and a gixxer 1k. the rep on the phone mentioned a possible kickstand bracket, but its nowhere close. any ideas?

I just installed the exact same can last week.. check one of my threads i posted pics and a vid and a short review.... but I dont have an o2 sensor on mine, so i left that goldish cap on there that plugs it.... apparentally it doesnt come very tight because it fell off the first ride i took.. so make sure to tighten it down... the extra metal bracket thing on the mid pipe should be horizontal with the ground right in front of the rear tire. its a pain when putting it on because it gets in the way of the tire but once its all the way on it will be plenty out in front of the tire. I dont understand your problem? maybe the pics will help

appreciate the feedback. the forums put new members in a "moderated" status, which means i cant view attachments, and my posts dont show up until after a moderator approves them. i cant wait to get enough posts to get my training wheels taken off. had i been able to view attachments, i probably couldve answered most of my questions.

as someone who's ran several forums though, i understand the need for such things though. spam bots suck and the means to prevent them sometimes prevent actual people too.

the bracket is useless for our bikes... but I didnt see the plug in your exhaust midpipe. make sure it is plugged so exhaust doesnt leak out. also. if you take the baffle out it sounds amazing. I just keep the baffle in my back seat if I think there will be cops or its late at night.

10-4. mine is an 06, which has the o2 sensor. you can see it in my first pic hanging down. its plugged up tight. everything is business as usual.

i do love the sound. yesterday i rode with the baffle out, today i rode with the baffle in. sounds great both ways. baffle out makes me feel like such a ricer though, so i dont know which way ill keep it. maybe baffle in for commuting, and baffle out for weekends. since it only takes a few seconds to swap, its definitely possible.

i appreciate the help fellas.

I installed the 8" Delkevic Mini on my '06. It went on fairly easy and I agree with the above poster - that extra bracket is useless for our bikes. Congrats on your new silencer.
