Dashboard craziness
So when my 04 f4i is held at high rpm (12000 or above) for several seconds (5-10 seconds) either at high speed or running through the gears, all of a sudden ALL lights on dash (oil, fi, neutral, turn signals) all turn on and the tach needle starts going from 0 to redline like it does before start up. the head lights, tail light, and turn signals still work and don't even dim or flicker and the engine doesn't even seem to cut out. As soon as you back off of the throttle, everything goes back to normal until you start pushing it hard again. Thinking a ground issue but not sure. Any idaes out there?

any specific ideas where to check? from what i can gather, there is a ground wire by the tail light that is known for causing problems with the ignition system. not yet had the bike apart but doing so soon for annual maintnance checks. any leads on where to look will be greatly appreciated. since the bike will be down to engine and frame only it will be easy to check any and all locationsthat could be a problam. thanks

terminals are the first place i'll start but i'm still concerned. the only way to check it is in excess of 100mph. either vibrations at a coontact point or possibly too much current for the elec. system if there is a weak ground somewhere. if that were the case, could it be a voltage regulator going bad? if it didn't quit producing power at a certain rpm, one could reason that it is charging too much thus overloading the electornics since it would be potentially producing more power than it was capable of grounding.
Not an elec. engineer so let me know if i'm off base. hopefully some one out there has had the same problem and have found the (or a ) solution.
