Default Custom headlight install

Hey guys. So i decided to go with a diferent look with my f4i, I bought dual four inch dual beam bucket lights to give it that stunt bike look. The lights didn't come with a diagram so I hooked the black up assuming its a ground to the ground on a battery and connected yellow to the hot it lit up then the white lit up brighter...ok so I crossed both yellows both whites and both black then tapped the high beam connector to the white and the low beam to the yellow then the ground to the ground on the low beam. At first it was working well not as I hoped low beam side lit up continues and the right side only when I flipped the switch. Before I could find what I did wrong it now blows the fuse as soon as i turn the key. Some please explain what I did wrong and how to fix it.

Blown fuses are a symptom of an electrical short-circuit to ground. If it worked for a bit before failing, I'd suspect that a splice might not be properly insulated and is shorting out

Check your work, and ensure that you haven't accidentally put a ground where it doesn't belong. Probably worthwhile to consult the wiring diagram to confirm

Ok, thank you ill go over all of it. I had headlight issues when I bought the bike they didn't work at all come to find out it was a failing kill switch so I bypassed it in the pig tail to it so I can still replace it but not right away, probley be worth checking that too cuz I remember last year I kept blowing bulbs now that I'm thinking about it. Might have to replace that switch also. Thank you ill check it out and get back to you

So i found the short they are working again. But like I said not how I thought they would I figured both the dims would be on normal and the bright a would work with the switch instead the dim side is on and the bright side is off unless i hit the switch is there a way to correct this
