Default Crash protection

What recommendations can everyone give me for this? I don't want to go as far as a stunt cage because I hear they drag during corners if you lean far enough. I'm thinking to purchase either frame sliders or a race rail. Can anyone recommend certain brands or product?

I love the woodcraft sliders they are super strong and beefy but are not huge on profile, and the design works very well, I wont run any other slider as long as woodcraft makes sliders for my bike.

X2 Have the woodcraft on mine and they are as CJ says, high quality and strong.

I have no experience with rails of any kind, but I've heard that if you crash in a certain way they can grab on the ground and cause the bike to tumble more than it might without them, causing the bike to be damaged more than it normally would. So there's some pros and cons to all protection methods.

+1 to Woodcraft or Vortex frame sliders, though. I have Vortex ones and they've done their job a few times. Remember that frame sliders are designed to help save the frame, though. Any fairing damage protection is just a side bonus, and they aren't guaranteed to prevent all damage in the event of a spill.

I am fully aware it will not protect everything but for those harsh crashes that's what I have insurance for

Something I forgot to mention that Akens post reminded me of; stay away from metal sliders, you want DELRIN sliders, any reputable brand i.e. no ebay special will be made of delrin. You want the slider to grind away upon impact not transfer all the force into your frame. Sliders that stick out far away from the bike run the risk of snapping off or worse catching on something and sending your bike end over end. I used to have vortex sliders but the hole in the middle didn't give me the same confidence that the woodcraft one's do. I have a woodcraft "puck" from my friend that he crashed and 60% of the puck is worn away, there was some rash on the fairings but not a single scratch on the rest of the bike, he rode the bike to my garage and swapped it with a spare I had.

Woodcraft has 3 different sizes of pucks and the middle one is the perfect size for the F4 /F4i. In the end no matter what company you go with make sure that they are a two piece design with replaceable delrin pucks and easy to find replacement parts.

Which puck is the middle one? The short, shorty or universal?
